Always ensure your workspace does
not have any slippery hazards. If there is any slip hazard, you might slip and
fall on any of these running/idle machines, and that can lead to serious
incidents.
Double ensure the chuck guard is
always in position and properly fixed.
Ensure the key to the chuck is
removed when not in used in machine.
Be familiar and aware of the on/off
switch of the e-stop, get used to it, and ensure that you know how to turn it
off and on when need to be.
Ensure you create a safe path away
from the work area.
Ensure the drill speed of the
cutter is well spindled to suit it well. Select the right drill for the machine.
Faulty/Damaged machine must not be
used. Immediately report suspect equipment to HSE Officer or Supervisor.
Do not leave the drill press on
while it is still being used, never do that.
If you want to clean the workplace
or the machines, you must switch off the machine before you start cleaning.
